Barrel distortion! I want the 18mm F2, dammit! I continue to use and love Fuji cameras for their combination of stellar image quality in a compact package. It’s a combination that’s vital to what I do and how I do it. I’m hoping that Fuji keep making smaller lenses for those of us who like cameras with a low profiles.
The XF 18mmF1.4 R LM WR Lens can produce some truly stunning images that are rich in clarity and detail. This is thanks to the complex and advanced optical structure that is comprised of 15 high-quality glass elements, arranged into 9 groups. Amongst these elements are three aspherical lenses and one ED (Extra Dispersion) lens element.
The Fuji 90mm f2 is very solidly built, weather-sealed and features (quad) linear motors for very fast focusing. This combination of features are only present in three other Fujinon primes. It’s also a very compact lens measuring only ø75.0mm x 105mm and weighing only 540g. Paired with an X-T or X-Pro series camera it balances very well.

As for other parts of the XF 14mm f2.8 R lens, like the other XF lenses, there is a focus ring. The focus ring is pretty cool too. If you want to focus manually, you simply pull the focus ring back towards the rear element. A distant scale is then revealed, which you can use with the depth of field scale. The focus ring is nice and smooth as well.
