Re: First to second gear no it should never "smooth out" (well you should hope it doesnt, if it does its due to wear) its a case of getting used to doing a smooth change. i had the same problem when i first drove a semi-auto, and it took a bit of getting used to. it put me off buying one. i've spoke to many people with the same problem, and the general concensus is you should not accelerate
Looking at this and other fiat forums it seems this has been an issue with semi-auto dualogic Fiat 500s since 2009. People have taken it the garage and diagnostics come back with nothing. The only way people have been able to prove the fault to the garage is if it occurs when the mechanics test drive it (usually keeping the car for over 2 months).
I had the bleeping when I parked it in Neutral. Then I read in the dualogic manual that you should never park it in neutral. This seems odd. Why is that? When I start up I sometimes have to put it into Neutral first because it thinks its in neutral! you have to start it in neutral, but switch
Hi All I have a Fiat grande punto 2007 and recently experiencing this intermittent gearbox issue. I was driving the car for about 10-15 km without any issue and suddenly it stopped shifting to 1st 3rd and 5th gears. (Odd gears) only 2nd , 4th and Reverse are working. Can put to N and back to R. W
Hi all, Whilst I was driving on Saturday, I applied the brakes as the vehicles in front were slowing down; however, my car refused to stop and you could feel that the gearbox was still engaged in a high gear and refused to change down through the gears. As the car was not braking as
Hi type, I own a 2008 dualogic grande punto. On each chill start (before jobs and after work). I put the key inside and get this message:"CHECK CONVEYANCE SEE HANDBOOK" i can't put the car into gear. After about 30 seconds i listen of grill once repeated (i think it's that pump) both an message
Nothing but trouble with this Punto. Multiple window regulators, poor interior build quality, gearbox that fails after 80,000? I have a Toyota Landcruiser that has done over 300,000km and has only ever had minor servicing. Other smaller Toyota family cars have done similar. Fiat = Cheap, nasty and poor after sales service. Never, ever again.
Hi JFerris321, Same problem here. One week ago happened first time to my GP robotised gearbox (64.000 km/ 2008). One exception: if I shut down the engine, after about 1 hour the gearbox works fine for about 30 minutes Probably now is the transition time from fine working to total fail.
